BORING LIGHTS

Nissan Note light shows

Supported 2007–2020 (GT-R and Leaf later too)

The Boring Lights app can switch the Nissan Note's headlights, side lights, front fog lights, rear fog lights and interior lights: flashes and patterns at any speed and your own shows, from your iPhone. The first time, the app checks each light with you.

What your Nissan Note can do

The lights it uses

Headlights, side lights, front fog lights, rear fog lights and interior lights. Nothing else is switched, and every light goes back to the car when you stop.

Flashes and patterns

Ready-made flash patterns at any speed.

Your own shows

Pick the lights and the pattern yourself.

How it works

1. Plug in an adapter

Any Bluetooth OBD adapter in the diagnostic port. The app finds it by itself.

2. It reads your car

The app recognises your Nissan Note and the lights it has.

3. Tap a show

Your real lights run it. Stop hands every light straight back to the car.

What you need

An iPhone and a Bluetooth OBD adapter (Veepeak BLE, vLinker, OBDLink or similar). Bluetooth keeps wireless CarPlay and your phone's internet working. No coding and nothing changed on the car.

Best adapter to leave in the car
OBDLink CX: Bluetooth, sleeps when the car is off and wakes with it, so it can stay plugged in and connects by itself, and wireless CarPlay keeps working. Cheaper: vLinker BM+.

Safety

Light shows are for when the car is parked, where it is allowed, never on a public road. Every light goes back to normal when you press Stop, and after 10 minutes at most.
